Random...

I was looking at my cell phone and had some cute pictures of the kids on there that I had forgotten about, so I am going to post them! I'm pretty sure we are at Subway here, it was the day I found out I had strep throat and my mom braved taking all three kids into public alone, so that I could go to my doctor's appointment. Thanks again mom! They got these cute sunglasses in their kids meals.

Just this week Kai figured out how to dress himself, too bad it was with the girls panties... His daddy is so proud :)

Last weekend we took Lyv to see 'Annie Get Your Gun', my brother-in-law Brodie played Frank Butler, the lead male, and the girl that played Annie was AMAZING, the language was not quite at my standards for my 5-year-old, lesson learned! Lyv loved it though, after she stopped freaking out about the guns, at about intermission, when she learned that it was only someone pushing a button to make the gunfire sounds, and not the actual gun. I had no idea she was so terrified of guns... who knew? Look at her with her little purse and playbill, she's precious!!!

Okay... I know I have already posted pics of these skirts, but for those of you not in my ward, here is a picture of the full ensemble. I am itching to run out and buy more fabric to make more of these, LOVE THEM!!! I found these tops for the girls at Target (of course) and I literally pulled Carly out of bed to try this on late at night after I finished sewing the elastic to make sure it fit. She loved it! She kept saying "Mom, one more twirl, then I will take it off!" After she was finally dizzy, I got her out of it, but she wanted to sleep in the shirt, she's so funny! (I didn't actually take this pic with my phone, I just had to post it though :) )

Pioneer Day 2009

This year I was NOT (Yay!!!) in charge of the La Verkin Pioneer Day celebration! So I got to enjoy it a little more... It started with a parade of some of the primaries, our kids got to ride their bikes and decorate them, my intention was for Lyv to ride her scooter and Carly to ride her big wheel type bike, well I totally forgot and grabbed Carly's scooter too. If you could only experience the snail-like speed that she puts out on that thing... You would have been mad at yourself too, but i figured 'what the heck?' I told Lyv "Do NOT leave your sister, okay?" "Okay mom!" So this is the girls at the beginning of the parade, where I left them to go find Joey and Kai.

"LYV! Where's Carly!?" "Back there somewhere!" "I told you not to leave her!!" Get this, she says, "I didn't! She left me!" Riiiiiiiiight.....

Well, we found her! Thank you Daniella!!! (someone else was carrying her scooter) Daniella said she was falling behind all the other kids, so she graciously scooped her up!

Kai had no competition for candy!

After the parade there were all kinds of races for all ages. Kai went first, his motivation was the sucker Joey pulled out of his mouth and ran to the finish line!

Carly trotted to the finish line, she did really well!

Lyv ran her little guts out, but stopped before she got to the finish line to watch the other kids.

I'm not sure that any of the kids are as competitive as their dad... Look at his face. (I giggle whenever I look at this picture!) I'm not allowed to discuss the outcome of this race.

So, let's talk about this one!! Hi Brandi!
We totally kicked trash!! As in we beat most of those scrawny kids (Suttons), Ha!!

After the races, we went to the pavilion and watched people sing, Nate Johnson started to sing and the girls were absolutely mesmerized!!

They swayed and hugged their way through most of the songs!

Nate, You have fans!!!

Prettys!

With Joey being gone to Nevada for work so much, I have been trying to find craftys to keep me busy. I found one... well 3 actually!

Brandi and I went to the quilt store in Hurricane and found some Beautiful fabric, we had a pattern I had found to do skirts for ourselves, I got all my fabric cut last week, and was able to sew it all together yesterday! Kendra brought over her surger, which cuts off soooooo much time! Thank You Kendra!!

I finished my skirt and started on some for the girls last night after they were in bed, I finished those too! (you don't want to know what time I went to bed... Think Wonder Woman...)

I LOVE these skirts, I did them the same way the Kendra has been doing hers, now all we need is to find shirts to match them! Especially Lyv!! She won't take it off!

Keep'n busy!

Wow! Time goes by fast! I feel like I just posted, and it was a week ago! Joey has been out of town for the last two weeks for work and is leaving again on Monday. The kids and I both go stir crazy, so we have been trying to keep busy. Before Lyv's party my dad took me and the kids to one of his neighbors to go see their 20 puppies (two litters). Lyv fell in love with them!

The poor thing fell asleep, but she still wouldn't put it down to play witht the toys they had!

We also got to go out back and see their chickens, Lyv would just dive in there and grab a chick, she was so proud of herself! She LOVES animals!

Kai spotted a tractor and once we got him on it, it was a fight to get him off! His two favorite things are tractors and baseballs!

I was working on the computer for a while and the girls got into my room and found my shoes, they couldn't even hardly stand up in them!

Last weekend the fan went out on the air conditioning in our van. It is 117 degrees outside, and I am NOT going anywhere until it's fixed! so we have been stuck in the house all week, the girls have been getting along better that I thought possible, they play with their "Pony stuff" every day, here they are having a birthday party for all the ponies! They sang to them and everything! So cute!

Lyv was wanting to take some pictures with my camera and I let her snap a shot of herself and Kai, I can't believe the picture of Kai! He has such beautiful eyes, but he never lets me take pictures of him, he won't look at me, the little stinker, but he will for Lyv, go figure...

Happy Birthday Lyvi Bean!

My baby is growing up! Today is Lyv's 5th birthday, I asked her if she feels any older and she said she does, when I asked how old she said "Twenty!" That girl....

Here are some pictures of her growing up!

Lyv is 3 months old in this picture, she's already sitting up! She's always done things early and well, she is one driven little thing!

lyv is about 18 months here, she has always loved going to grandma & papa's and help feed the horses, she LOVES animals!

For Lyv's 2nd birthday we had a Luau, she got to have all her cousins there, she loves her family very much, and is always thinking of them.

The dawning of the diva! For Lyv's 3rd birthday she told me she wanted a "Cinderella party with a castle cake". So what did she get? You guessed it!!

I had to include this picture because it tells the story of Lyv so well. It was January and we had been in the snow up north the week before. It had snowed at our house and I told her she had to be dressed for the snow to go out into it, this is how she came out of her room, Fully prepared!!! Fashion is always a forethought!

This is her Shirley Temple pic, I just love her eyes! Beautiful!
For Lyv's 4th birthday we had an all-out fairy party, complete with a fairy queen to oversee the celebration. oh! and cupcakes!!

This year we had a My Little Pony birthday party, the girls had so much fun being made into ponies! First they got to pick out their own little pony pal, then they were equipped with a mane and tail. Then they got to pick out their own cutie-mark (the mark on ponies bums to tell their names, only I put theirs on their hands :) Lyv's name was Desert rose. We also had Berry Delight (Rylee), Tippy Toes (Brynlee), Sparkle Dash (Macie), and Daisy Jo (Emmy).

The girls had a blast! They played a game of horseshoes, decorated their own cupcakes and opened presents, afterwords they just got to run around and play together, it was perfect! I took Macie and Brynlee home, so they got to stay for a while longer and play, those girls are funny!

What party is complete without an over-the-top cake? Not Lyv's!!!

I managed to throw this cake together for her, she loved it, it's her "Rainbow Pony Castle cake".
I had to find the ponies on ebay, they are collectors items, and are no longer available. (anything for my baby, remember how I was saying I was a sucker for her? Still true.)

Happy Birthday babe, I love you so much and am very proud of you and am amazed at how in tune you are to others, especially your friends, you are my bean!!

Apparently Lyv has a really low tolerance for that much sugar, she just puked her purple guts out! (as I type this at 11 at night). I am really, really sorry if any of the other girls get sick, just remember they had fun doing it!! I still think she's wonderful!

Leapfrog!

You know how I'm always teasing about Carly's athletic ability? Well now there's proof! I love that girl more that anything, and she's the funniest thing ever, she is our comic relief for sure! I just don't know that she's destined for sports of any kind. (There's always the chance she'll grow out of it, right?) Well, we were playing leapfrog for Family Home Evening (to keep from playing the Ducky game) and Lyv sailed over Joey so Carly took a turn and sent me running for the camera, you can hear Lyv giggling, the girls had a blast! They're so fun!

*Now remember, Carly is trying to jump OVER Joey.

Independence Day

For the 4th of July, we have been going to Fillmore, UT for the last 3 years. My parents have some property up there on the mountain that they have put a 5th wheel trailer on. We headed up Friday morning with my mom and my dad came up later that night. It was fun to just hang out and let the kids run wild for a while, they had fun. Saturday morning we got up and got around, I did Lyv's hair in a star I saw on a blog that I LOVE! She was so excited to get it done after she saw the pictures! Also the bows they have in their hair are ones I made with Brandi before we left! They are so fun!!

We packed the kids on the 4-wheelers with Joey and my dad and they headed into town for the parade, mom and I drove the pick-up.

The kids had so much fun at the parade!! Lyv was had run out to grab a piece of candy and after she got it she was walking back to us a kid was running for more candy and he literally tackled her and slammed her to the ground! He totally didn't see her, he had to be about 10 or 11. Right in front of everyone, she scraped her knee and elbow, but was otherwise fine, I felt bad for the kid, I'm sure he felt awful! We didn't see him again after that.

Even after being pummled, she still kept going for that candy! She's such a trooper! It took Kai a little while but once he figured out that the girls were running after candy, he wanted in on the action! The girls would come back with their candy and give Kai a piece, he was all over that!

Here they are showing off their spoils, the otterpops were the hardest to get, people aren't as generous with those!

We had so much fun at the parade, as soon as it's over, everyone heads over to the park and finds some shade, we found a great tree to set up under.

there are tons of food booths, games, a stage, bounce houses and train rides. The kids rode the train a couple times.

Kai wouldn't go without me, at least that's what I told them :)

There were some people singing up on a stage, so of course Lyv wanted to go watch, as soon as we got there the girls started to pole dance to the music! Seriously, Lyv was getting a little carried away... They were entertaining the entire audience, we were just rolling, which made them keep going, they are such hams!!
All in all we had a ton of fun!! I love that we have a nice COOLER place to go for the 4th, the girls have been looking forward to it for months. I can't wait 'til next year!
