Better Late Than Never!

I have been wanting to post these pics for a week, but just haven't been able too! This week went by so fast and I'm not sure why! I did a cake this week, Yay! I found a friend of mine from highschool on Facebook and she saw my cake blog and asked me to do a cake for her sister who is about to have a baby! That is the first cake I have gotten through my cake blog, Awesome!!!

Last week we went to the County fair and worked the Taco Booth with our ward, it was hot, sweaty and we looked rediculous (excepet for Daniella, of course), but it was fun being there with friends!

We took the kids to the fair and they got to go into the petting zoo, they had a pony there to ride and I would have guessed that Lyv would be the only one to ride it. Turns out she was they ONLY one NOT wanting to ride it!

Kai even rode the pony! Wow!

Finally, Joey and I went to the Demolition Derby Saturday night, to say it was a Joke is putting it lightly! I won't go off on my tirade about it, don't get me wrong, the actual DEMOLITION part was awsome, but they were entirely unorganized, it literally lasted FOUR hours!!! Really people? Really!?!?!

Monday's Memories: Baby blue eyes

Once upon a time Kai had these amazing blue eyes that I just LOVED!! They have since turned a beautiful hazel, but I was thinking about that the other day and I don't quite know when they went away, but I knew they would, so I can't tell you how many of these close-ups I have taken of him. He was such a beautiful baby!

Now he's a handsome little boy!

High emotions!

First of all, I decided on a whim that Kai must be weaned from his binkey BEFORE he turns two! So on Monday I gathered up his binkey's and cut the tip off with scissors before I could change my mind.
Suddenly it was nap time and Kai is standing there with his blankey asking me for his binkey ("binkeys are for night-night!"). So I get his sippy and gather him up, go grab a binkey, take him in his room, turn off the light, turn on the fan, lay him down, give him his sippy, hand him the binkey and walk out the door.... Here come the screams! I didn't even wait to see how he would react to it. H cried for at least 30 minutes, but did finally go to sleep. He woke up early and was just SAD the rest of the day. Same thing at night, he finally did go to sleep, but was hoarse from crying. Tuesday I went to put him down for his nap and give him the binkey and he threw it! He cried for a short time and went to sleep, same at night. Wednesday he just whined a little at nap time and NOTHING at night!! Yay!! I got to stop feeling so guilty, Kai is such a tender hearted little thing, I think that's the reason we've let him have it this long! He went down just fine for his nap today too! I am sooooooo glad! He's even less fussy as a whole, which really surprises me!!


And...... LYV STARTED SCHOOL TODAY!! She has been excited for a year! When she turned 4, she says "when do I get to go to school?" I told her she could go about 5 weeks after she turned 5, we've been on the count down ever since! She wanted a fancy hair-do, (no, I am not the only one overly excited about her hair all the time!) so we did criss-cross ponies with ringlet curls, it turned out really cute, especially with the bows, Thanks Brandi!!

I took her to school and she got to play on the little playground for a few minutes, the teacher blew a whistle and they lined up with their classes, Lyv knows 2 boys from church that are in her class.

When it came down to it though, I think she was pretty nervous. It can be stressful for her to be around kids she doesn't know.

Her teachers name is Mrs. Holdaway, Lyv already likes her!

So, that's it! My baby is in school, I didn't cry as much as I thought I would. Some moms there were just bawling, I think it helped me keep myself in check.

Monday's Memories: Pony Tale

I have seen something similar to this on other blogs, and I think it's fun, so I am going to do this sometimes!

I thought I would do photos of Lyv's hair over the years, I'm feeling all nostalgic since she's starting school on Thursday. Lyv was born with very little hair, I was in total denial, because I remember her having more than this...

This is Lyv about a week old, (the photo on the bottom is Carly a few weeks old, I came across it looking for photos of Lyv, I had to add it)

When she was about 9 months I managed to scrape it up into a little pony on top, it was my present to me for Mothers day '05

That girl's hair grew like a weed this last year! It is so much fun, and she loves to get it done! Hopefully it lasts.....

Footloose!!

Joey and I went with my parents to see Footloose at Tuacahn last night, I LOVED it! They did such a good job! They still have all the songs that are on the soundtrack to the movie, but the cast sings them as part of the show, and it totally works! The only thing I wished they had was the scene where they play chicken on the tractors. They could probably pull that off at Tuacahn but not any other stage, so it makes sense... The music was fun and the actors were great! Two thumbs up!!

During intermission my mom and I got our picture taken, look just like them don't we? Hi mom!

Game Night!

I would have posted this sooner, but I lost my camera behind my desk for a few days! This is the first week Joey has been in town in the last month, so we have been crafting like crazy, but this last week we decided to do a game night instead, we all brought treats and played rook and monopoly. Brandi, Ashley and I are die-hards, because this photo was taken at 2:33 am I had just lost everything landing on Boardwalk with 3 houses, those two were still going strong! If I would have thought of it I would have taken pics sooner! Thanks to all of you for coming! You are so fun, and I am thankful to have such good friends!
